Thanks for offering your items for sale in PYHA’s Gear Swap. Reselling your used and unwanted equipment may help other families get their children’s hockey experience started at a reasonable cost.

Gear Swap Consignment Instructions

Gather new or used hockey equipment that is safe and in good working condition that you would like to sell on consignment at or donate to the PYHA Gear Swap.  Launder or clean equipment as well as possible to receive the best price for your equipment. Print out the current year’s inventory form and for each item fill in one line of the form with the information requested including a General Description, Make/Model, Size, Color, Asking Price, and preference for item If Doesn’t Sell (Return (R) or Donate (D)).  Provide enough information so that if a label is lost from your gear that we will still be able to identify it and give you credit for its sale or allow for its return, if you prefer it.  If you would like to number your gear with masking or hockey tape to match your list it will make check-in at the swap go more quickly but volunteers will have tags on hand to label your items.

Pricing items for PYHA consignment share

PYHA will collect a portion of the cost of the item you price to support its programs. For items up to $9 there will be a set $1.00 fee.   For items starting at $10 you will be charged a set consignment fee for each price range. You may incorporate this amount into the total asking price and make calculations easy for our volunteers. Please see table below for easy pricing including consignment share. If you are donating your item with proceeds going to PYHA, please let our volunteers know so the tag can be labeled appropriately.

Pricing items for sale

You know what you have paid for the equipment and are the best judge of its current worth. Some players will know the value of specific high-end merchandise and will willingly pay your asking price.  Other people/parents who come to the Gear Swap are just breaking into hockey and are usually looking to acquire gear at a reasonable cost.  You may write original cost of the item on a piece of tape or the tag to help justify the asking price and you may indicate on your inventory form if you are willing to accept a lower price.

If the Item Doesn’t Sell

We wish to honor your request to return or donate your unsold items. Please provide your best contact phone number at the top of the inventory form and indicate your preference to Return (R) or Donate (D) each item listed on your inventory in the designated column.  We will call you as soon after the sale as possible to let you know that there are unsold items to be returned.  Donated items will go to the Hockey Cellar to be made available to their customers.

Please contact Joanne Tirocke  with any questions at nocitymouse@yahoo.com or at 208.301.0443.

PYHA Registration Announcement

02 August 2013

Hello PYHA Families, there is a hint of imminent hockey in the air as we prepare for our 2013/2014 season. As our association continues to grow and mature, there is a need to introduce change in order to maintain its healthiness. One such change that directly pertains to you is the fact we need to start preparing for our season earlier to cooordinate coaches, ice time, jerseys, tournaments, fund raising etcetera. Towards this preparation we need to establish our player numbers at each level earlier than we have in the past hence we will be transitioning to online registration with details to follow soon. We are hoping to have our registrations completed by early September and we need your help to achieve this. As always we appreciate your help and returning families please visit the PYHA website after September 1st and immediately register your children.

Thanks for your assistance towards another rewarding and well organized season of hockey, the greatest sport in the world!

Skate-A-Thon

26 November 2012

Dear PYHA Players and Parents,
Our annual Skate-A-Thon is upon us! This event will be held Friday, 28 December from 2:45 - 4:45 PM. This fundraiser is a great opportunity for PYHA players to get out in the community and collect donations that benefit every player. Our goal this year is ten thousand dollars. If every player collects $100.00 we will easily meet this goal.

We are also using this as an opportunity to encourage individuals to visit the rink and experience the joy it brings to our community. The rink has donated 2 for 1 skate passes to be handed out to individuals who sponsor our players. Thank you for your support and willingness to spread the word about youth hockey on the Palouse and the Palouse Ice Rink! Please use the attached form when collecting funds. If you would like to hand out 2 for 1 skate passes while seeking donations, please contact your team manager.
Thanks for your participation!

$2500 Grant

09 October 2012

PYHA Parents,

We have an opportunity to earn a $2500 grant and ADM Training Kit from Liberty Mutual for our hockey association by participating in this program.  In order to earn points towards the grant competition, we need as many people as possible to take one of the quizzes (see below).  The quizzes take less than 5 minutes and you have the opportunity to sign up to receive (or not) a weekly coach or parent tip and newsletter afterwards.  You do have to create an account to credit PYHA but it seems like you can opt out of receiving the newsletters or other communication.

If you could complete the survey and credit Palouse Youth Hockey Association, it would be much appreciated.  Any other parents or supporters that you rally to participate would be bonus points for us.

Also, don’t forget about hockey signups today at the rink.  Learn to Play Hockey starts October 15th – have your kids recruit their friends!  More info & practice times for this season are on our website: www.palousehockey.com.  Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
